How Easy is it to Get a Gun in America?

By Lucas Musetti, Ayub Elmi, Peter Gandal, Amelia Kirshbaum, and Joshua Kirshbaum

The accessibility and ease of the trade-in guns in the United States is a problem because studies have proven it facilitates gun violence. The trade-in guns are becoming increasingly easy because of technology. Alongside guns being easily obtained, the United States has also not limited places where people may carry their weapons. Plus when gun attacks occur by people of color they are more likely to have a harsher sentence than a white person. The enforcement of gun laws is not equal in the United States. Thus we must ask the question: in what ways can people bring about systemic change in the buying, selling, and carrying of guns?
